The question people ask
“Can Microsoft Bookings use Zoom instead of Teams?”

Asked in Microsoft Learn (opens in a new tab), Microsoft Learn (opens in a new tab), Microsoft Learn (opens in a new tab), community.zoom.com (opens in a new tab) and community.zoom.com (opens in a new tab)

Short answer

No. As of October 2026, the only online meeting Microsoft Bookings can create is a Microsoft Teams meeting. The service setting Add online meeting generates a Teams link (the Microsoft Learn pages still say "Teams or Skype"), there is no Zoom option in Bookings, and there is no Bookings app in the Zoom App Marketplace. You can still run Bookings appointments on Zoom: paste a fixed Zoom link into the service, or build a Power Automate flow that creates a Zoom meeting for each booking and emails it.

What Microsoft and Zoom have said#

  • Microsoft Q&A, 2020. "MS Bookings using Zoom not Teams" has more than 90 "same question" votes. The accepted answer from Microsoft support: "it is not feasible to do that in Microsoft Bookings so far."
  • Microsoft Q&A, April 2024 (20+ same question). A community moderator wrote that "it's been concluded that it is not currently feasible" and pointed to the Power Automate connector. An October 2024 thread got only a redirect to the Power Platform forum.
  • Microsoft Learn. The service article says Add online meeting works "either via Teams or Skype", and the Bookings FAQ says online meetings are available "when using the Skype or Microsoft Teams clients". Zoom appears only in the Power Automate material: the connector page lists "Booking a Zoom meeting along with an appointment" as an example flow, and the Bookings article on Power Automate repeats it. That's where the idea of a Bookings Zoom integration comes from: it's a flow you build, not a setting.
  • Zoom. On the Zoom Community, a 2021 request for a native connector got a pointer to the Zoom feedback form from a Zoom employee, and a 2022 thread with more than 2,000 views has workarounds only. When we searched the Zoom App Marketplace on 20 October 2026, "microsoft bookings" returned no apps and "bookings" returned seven unrelated scheduling products.
  1. In Zoom, create a recurring meeting that isn't tied to one date, and turn on its waiting room.
  2. In Bookings, open the shared booking page, go to Services and edit the service.
  3. Turn Add online meeting off, so customers don't also get a Teams link.
  4. Paste the Zoom link into Location. Microsoft says Location appears in the confirmation and reminder emails for staff and customers, and on the calendar event.
  5. Optionally, on the Notifications step, paste the full Zoom invite (meeting ID, passcode, dial-in) into Additional information for Email Confirmation and into your reminders.
  6. Make a test booking and open the confirmation as the customer would.

Where it breaks:

  • Everyone gets the same room. Anyone who kept an old confirmation can click into a later appointment. A Zoom Community user raised this in 2022; the reply was to rely on the waiting room, so the host admits each person.
  • The link is per service, not per staff member. If several staff deliver one service, all their appointments point at the same Zoom meeting, and two appointments at the same time collide. Create one service per staff member, each with that person's own Zoom link, or use the flow below.
  • Check the Location text. A February 2026 Q&A post describes a Zoom link "that's not valid" showing in the location of appointments made from the Bookings app in Outlook. The only reply was AI-generated and found no cause, so test each service after you edit it.

The same trick works for "Bookings with me" (Microsoft now calls it Personal Bookings). A Microsoft MVP on the Power Platform Community suggested turning off the Teams meeting for the meeting type and putting the Zoom link in its Location field. Because it's your own page, the shared-room collision doesn't apply, but the reused-link point does.

Workaround: a Power Automate flow that creates a Zoom meeting per booking#

  1. Create an automated cloud flow on the Bookings trigger When a appointment is Created (spelled that way in the connector) and pick the booking page.
  2. Add the Zoom Meetings (Independent Publisher) action Create Meeting. Map the topic (for example service name plus customer name), the start time and the duration from the trigger. Run a test booking to check the time zone and duration units before you rely on it.
  3. Add an Office 365 Outlook Send an email action to CustomerEmail (for group services, loop over Customers) and to the staff member, with the join_url from the Zoom step.
  4. Turn Add online meeting off on the service, so there's no Teams link as well.

Where it breaks:

  • Licence. The Zoom connector is Premium in Power Automate, so the flow owner needs a premium licence. It's published by an individual, labelled Preview, and not supported by Microsoft or Zoom.
  • No update or delete. The Zoom connector has three actions: Create Meeting, Get Meetings and Meeting Details. A rescheduled or cancelled booking leaves the Zoom meeting at the old time unless you call the Zoom API yourself with an HTTP action. On top of that, users report the Bookings Updated trigger not firing; see why a Bookings trigger isn't firing.
  • The Bookings emails still don't have the link. The Bookings connector has no action to write anything back to the appointment, so the customer gets your Zoom email separately from the Bookings confirmation and calendar invite. The Microsoft Graph API can update an appointment, but we haven't tested whether Bookings re-sends a confirmation when you do.
  • Connector rules. Only an Administrator on the booking page can build the flow, each booking mailbox allows five flows, and it doesn't run in GCC, GCC High or DoD. Bookings with me pages can't trigger flows at all.

Zapier has a Zoom app but no Microsoft Bookings app, so a Zapier version still starts with Power Automate forwarding the booking; see Bookings and Zapier.
